Fun French for Nurseries
Parlez-vous français in your nursery?
We offer small group classes at nurseries in and around Bristol, for ages 3-5. The aim is to familiarise the children with the sounds and words of French, through songs, action and simple vocabulary. The classes are fun and interactive, and as young children have a natural ear for languages and none of the self consciousness of adults, they begin to pick up French from the very first session.
Each session has a theme, for example, numbers, colours, animals, and we reinforce what the children have learnt each week, so that the children gain confidence and the vocabulary becomes more and more familiar. We find that hearing and listening to another language at this early age, makes a big difference when children start to learn a foreign language at school, as they already have an ear for different sounds and are confident and unfazed- and already have a few words!
Our French classes could benefit your nursery by broadening the curriculum, offering an additional service which would be valued both by parents and indeed by Ofsted, and, of course, gives young children a head start in a foreign language, which will greatly benefit them when they start school.
Classes run for 30 minutes and we work with small groups of no more than 12 children- keeping the class size small is important to us, as we believe that children learn better as part of a small group.
If your nursery would be interested in offering French classes, either as part of the normal day, or as an extra curricular activity, please do get in touch. We offer two options for the class fees:
- Parents can choose for their child to take part in Frankly French and pay an extra fee in addition to their nursery fees. This fee is to be paid for individual children by their parents directly to us. There is no cost to the nursery for this option. We require a minimum of 10 children per session for this option. The cost is £35 per child per 10 thirty minute sessions.
- The second option is for the nursery to pay a set fee to us to teach all the children in a group. The cost for this option is £300 per 10 thirty minute sessions, or £450 per 10 one hour sessions, if the numbers of children require two classes.
- Fees are to be paid in advance in 10 week blocks.
- Fees may vary slightly at our discretion depending upon the nursery’s requirements particularly with regard to location, duration of classes and number of children. All fees are to be paid in advance and are non-refundable in the case of an individual child being unable to continue or the nursery deciding that they do not wish to continue with a block of paid lessons for any reason.
- Frankly French will endeavour to give as much notice as possible should we need to cancel/rearrange a lesson. However there may be odd occasions when a lesson has to be cancelled at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances. Wherever possible an alternative time slot may be offered. If this is not convenient to either party then a refund would be given.
